October Sunshine | Last of the Summer Colour at Castle Ashby

The first time I visited Castle Ashby Gardens was in the Spring of 2017, before embarking on my journey into motherhood. Four years later, on a warm October day, I introduced Emilia to these beautiful gardens and it felt like a special moment for me and my romantic heart. Wandering the estate together and rediscovering the magic of these unique gardens through her eyes was a happy adventure, filled with simple moments I will cherish, always.

We skipped straight to the Orangery, where we were immediately greeted by its splendour. This enchanting space is perfect for seeking quiet and magic, always a favourite corner of Castle Ashby.

Counting all the fish hiding beneath the water lilies.

The Orangery is of course the best space for a game of hide and seek…

Climbing the magical old trees.

The joyful discovery of a water fountain surrounded by an abundance of colourful pelargoniums.

The final burst of Dahlias.

Simple moments of play while exploring the Fuchsia House.

There are so many beautiful varieties of Fuchsia’s jam-packed into this charming little old greenhouse. One of my favourite spaces nestled in the corner of the Butterfly Garden.

Delighted by this sunny display of Dahlias sneaking through the window and pausing to seek out the insects.

Enchanted by each and every magical corner of the gardens, overspilling with fragrance, colour and wonder.
